Have you ever questioned that how do all the writers in the world come up with ideas for writing? How do they even think of writing something without any clue? The answer for such questions is not difficult to discover. All you are required to do is to look for an inspiration which to an avid observer is not difficult to find.

Below are some helpful suggestions that you can concentrate on while looking for an idea for a writing topic.

ASK YOURSELF:

Whenever you decide to write, first ask yourself what exactly your field of interest is? What are the topics that inspire you? What is it that you have always desired to be expressive about? Observe your personal choices; look out for something in your daily routine that you think should be talked about. Focus on your hobbies, or maybe on a skill that you may like to share with other people also. The “how to” articles are the ones which people like to read. Maybe you have some tips and tricks that you want other people to know. Anything that might trigger your interest and you have much knowledge about is worth writing for.

NEWSPAPERS PLAY AN IMPORTANT PART:

The role of newspapers in finding the right kind of idea that may click you for your writing ventures cannot be denied. The newspapers hold information of all kinds. It won’t be a difficult task to find something that you can write about. From political to scientific issues, from business, sports, entertainment, and from education to medicine you can find anything good that may spark your interest to write on.

THE ADVANTAGE OF INTERNET:

We all know about one fact for sure that internet or the so called virtual world has become an important part of our lives .Now, most of us take advantage of reading and browsing online many hours a day. For finding any writing topic, this browsing also can play a significant role. All you can do is to visit various websites of your interest. Check out sites like yahoo answers or ask.com. You will find plenty of things to write about with an added advantage of what readers want to read. For those who write for earning online, this will be an extra added feature of knowing what people are interested in and are looking for on the web.

THINGS YOU DON’T LIKE:

There can be many things which you don’t appreciate or want to change. Maybe there is someone around you whose bad habits you despise. You can write about that. There can be any social or current affair issue that you think needs to be addressed or you can express your own view point about it. There are ample ideas that you can find if you think about all the negative or not so much appreciable things present in the environment around you.

MEMORABLE INCIDENTS:

There is plenty to write about memorable things in your life. From your childhood to your life with siblings, from your high school to university or even at your job, there must be something interesting good or bad that have happened to you. You can write about memorable events, stories, and incidents of your life. There can be someone or some people who have left a mark on your memory and you can tell the world about your association with them. Anything that might have become a vital part of your memory can be shared with the readers.

USING YOUR IMAGINATION:

It is said Imagination has no bounds. This, I believe is very true. Whenever you start thinking of any of your writing tasks, make use of your imagination. For creative writing using your imagination is highly significant. Make up things in your mind, think on the various sides of a thing and get your thoughts flowing. You can imagine some character, some story, novel or even any movie and think if you were to write something parallel to that, what you would like to change or what you would write. For a simple instance if you have to write on the famous movie “Cast Away”. What you would write about the central character or if you were put into his place what and how exactly you will feel etc.

Thus using your imagination is something vital that can help you put together your creative writing ideas.

Some Helpful Writing Tips for You Also

  • In case you don't forget, try to keep some little note book with you to write down the ideas that come to your mind.
  • Keep your eyes open and be observant about the activities that happen around you.
  • Try to read books and other works of writing in order to learn from them about the styles and techniques of a good writing.
  • Improve your understanding about the subject or topic you aspire to write through a good amount of research.
  • Last but not least enjoy what you write , be creative and try to build and grow your writing skills by writing more and more.

PHOTOGRAPHS SAY A LOT:

Have you ever noticed that photographs have stories to tell? You might have seen many photos in newspapers, magazines or anywhere else that might have a big message or a lesson stored in it for you. Just like the other day I saw a photo of a little kid who was waiting in queue for food that was being distributed among the needy. That photo made me think over the unfortunate amount of hunger and deprivation that exists all around the world. I could have written an article on the same topic of hunger and how to deal with it. Similarly for you too, photographs can serve as a big help in triggering your imagination to write.

TELEVISION HELPS:

Television these days is stored with multitude of ideas that may click you. You might learn about some current affair issues, some happy or tragic story in your community areas, various talk show hosts discussing about a certain topic. Some comedy show or drama, even a movie that you watch may have a particular idea that you can write about. All you have to do is to keep your eyes and mind open towards anything that will possibly interest you well enough that you decide to write on it.

READING MAGAZINES:

Those who are avid magazine readers can really bring out an inspiration from them. Magazines, like newspapers contain many things on which you can jot down something. Flip through them, from social to economic issues, any particular business or medical problems to any celebrity gossip, what’s in and out of the fashion scene, the beauty tips, food recipes or anything that may get you going with your writing projects can prove to be a great discovery.

TAKING A WALK:

Go out for a walk. Stroll around in your garden or anywhere out of your house for a breath of fresh air. You may find plenty of things outside which can be inventive for you. You can observe the plants, the trees, the flowers or even the people walking by you who are merely strangers to you but their some activity or habit might inspire you with an idea. Not only this, you can even write about the traffic problems, or the importance of Stop signs etc. All you have to do is to keep your observational eye wide open and you will end up with very nice thoughts that you can happily put to writing.

READING QUOTES:

For me reading quotes is just like a big picnic spot. I simply love reading quotes and most of the times they come in handy in bringing up a bright idea for me. Similarly for anyone who is looking forward to write something can take advantage of the quotes reading. You can find plenty of motivational and inspirational material that can get you going with a writing project. Just check out the good quote sites like quotegarden.com or quoteland.com or even many others available on the web for brainstorming over what to write about.

Consequently, to come up with an idea for writing might seem very difficult at first but if you look around and observe there are plenty of things that may inspire and motivate you to address them. You can write about anything and if you can write well and your readers enjoy your expression of thoughts with interest then I must say you have achieved your target of being a good writer.
