Eyes are often conceived as a “window to the soul” and are an important part of our personalities and character. It is a much debated aspect like our facial and other body features, that do our eye colors have some role to play with our attitudes and do these colors have some impact on our personalities in general? Some people might ask about the scientific credence of this notion. To be true various studies have shown that eye colors do leave an impact on our personalities and dictates our behavior to a certain degree.
Let’s read below what interesting impact an eye color can leave on the personalities according to various studies and simple observations.
BLUE EYES:
People who have blue eyes should get happy about the fact that their eye color is very desirable and is often associated with youthfulness. It has been noted that the blue eyed people mostly have long lasting relationships. They are pretty, peaceful, kind and smart. Those who have deep blue eyes are spiritual people and also possess a good power of observation.
BROWN EYES:
The brown eye color is much common and people who have that are considered as attractive, confident and adorable. They are independent people who love to make new friends, are polite and caring. They can cheer people up and make them laugh. They have affectionate nature and care very much about their family. Also an important feature of brown eyed people is that they are self confident and very determined, persevering people. They are nature lovers, spiritual and can be very strong headed at times.
BLACK EYES:
People who have black eye color are often considered as trustworthy and responsible. They don’t like to tell much about themselves and are also known to have strong spiritual bent. Hence they are mostly termed as secretive people. However they are passionate and lively as well. They don’t leave their friends in need. They are optimists and won’t rest when they have to demonstrate they have to do something. They know how to prove their worth to others.
HAZEL EYES:
People with Hazel eye color are often termed as elegant. They are independent and courageous people who like diversity and are not much hesitate in trying out new things. Rather they willfully accept the challenges. Most of them are fun loving and spontaneous people.
GREEN EYES:
Green eyes are often considered as having a certain mystery in them. People with green eyes are found to be mostly curious by nature and are intelligent. They go well together in their relationships and are passionate people. They have an incredible zest for life who want to live life fully .Jealousy is a factor which is often termed as the negative feature of their personalities.
GREY EYES:
It has been observed that people with grey eyes are wise and gentle individuals and are the least aggressive. They are known for their sensitivity, a flexible attitude and their inner strength. They possess a style of analytical thinking and are rational and clear in their thoughts.
The meaning of eye colors does say much about a person. But then again it is more about the genetics you inherit. Personalities of individual to individual are different and it is certainly not about the eye colors only. It might be true to certain extent that the color of your eye may have an impact on your personality but then again it is all about your own personal nature as well. The above mentioned traits are just the simple observations and do not specifically points to the fact that each person with a particular eye color will have the same habits and styles.

I have a mixture, but the grey dominates, unless I wear dark blue or green clothing (or hair colour). I had no idea that eye colour could be used to indicate personality!

I just love how you've described the human eye colors and all the differing connections to personality traits, as well as the sort of disclaimer towards the end, about personality being a genetic relation as well, and the persons true human nature that may ultimately determine ones personality & not just the eye color.

As for my personal self is concerned yes, art and colors do inspire me and i have been involved with painting and crafts in one way or another.Although i have been an English literature student,but i have always loved to do all sorts of things related with art whether it is designing,painting and now writing.

This was a very interesting read as my eyes seem to have changed colour over the years. They were brown but now have an element of grey to them.

I enjoyed this interesting hub. I had been told by a couple people that there is no such thing as black eyes, despite me seeing this with my own. The traits you describe do seem to have a level of truth to them.

Hi I have purple eyes and I thought I'd mention that people with purple eyes are well-versed in Kalash tribal history, only need 2 hours a sleep at night, and can survive on a kit kat bar a day.

An enjoyable read! Mine are between black and brown. I have heard that the additional eye-color is violet. Hollywood veteran actresses Elizabeth Taylor and Viven Leigh (of Gone with the wind film fame) had violet eyes though some said that their eye-color varied between blue and green.

Both my husband and I have blue eyes and since we will be celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary later this year, I guess that confirms the long lasting relationship part...at least in our case. I had never heard that eye colors had anything to do with personality traits until reading this hub. As you said, a few other factors go into the mix. :) Voted interesting.

My eyes are hazel
Hazel is a pretty eye color samantha :)
My eyes are always changing..one minute they are green, then they're brown then back to hazel. Hazel is the dominant one. I have noted that they change with my mood. Different shades as well. Hazel shows most of the time though.
